Hi folks!! I'm back! I never really "left" per say, but I took a very far step back from the music industry for a few months. I kept taking little breaks to try to clear my head and get a fresh perspective but I didn't get anywhere until I actually took time away. Over the summer, I began a new job working at my university so once fall hit, I was able to focus on classes and stop shooting without worrying about a source of income. That gave me the time and comfort to focus on why I'm still pursuing photography. The ultimate reason I needed a break from the music industry was to let my heart heal. I found out that I worked with far too many liars, cheats, and sexual predators. I saw that many of these bad folks were not only my clients, but supported by my clients as well. As I've weeded out all the people I'm no longer comfortable working with, I'm left with a group of wonderful, passionate, kind souls. My favorite photographer once said that to run a successful business, one must think with their head, not their heart. I don't intend to take my heart out my decision making process but I do intend to think with my head a lot more. Cheers to a new year, new clients, and new goals!
